Real Estate Rockstars Podcast Appearance — Brad Abernathy

Podcast Feature: How The Faces Of Is Helping Agents Build Influence by Giving Value and Leading Through Community

I was recently invited to appear on the Real Estate Rockstars Podcast, hosted by Aaron Amuchastegui, to share the origin of The Faces Of and how it is helping agents across the country grow their businesses through community visibility and authentic connection.

A few years ago, I had the opportunity to advise Chad Golladay of Broker Agent Advisor on a national Realtor recognition campaign. During that work, Chad introduced me to Aaron. Not long after, Aaron—along with Pat Hiban—invited me to join the podcast to talk about a very different approach to real estate growth, one that doesn’t rely on chasing leads or gimmicks.

During the conversation, I shared several ideas that run counter to mainstream real estate talking points.

Why The Faces Of Was Created

The Faces Of was created to showcase my community through the people who call it home. I’ve always believed that a community isn’t defined by its streets or buildings, but by the people who live and work there. Our people are what make a town special.

I wanted to show that—to ourselves and to anyone else who was paying attention. By leading with recognition and storytelling, I believed the community would embrace the project, that it would become something visible, meaningful, and uniquely ours. That belief proved to be right. The project created real connection, and in doing so, it naturally created visibility.

What Problem It Solves for Agents

The Faces Of does not make an agent great at what they do. I assume they already are.
What it does is make a great agent visible, relevant, and trusted in their hometown.

The platform gives agents full control of what I often call a “key to the town” campaign. Very quickly, agents learn something important: people need four things to survive—food, water, shelter, and attention. The one thing most people rarely receive is genuine attention.

When you recognize someone, tell their story, and give them the spotlight, they never forget it. That’s why this project works. It’s the ultimate icebreaker—and it’s rooted in giving, not asking.

Why Community Visibility Still Works

Community visibility doesn’t just work—it’s essential for anyone in a service-based business.

If you ask people in your town to name three Realtors, you want to be one of the names they say without hesitation. If you’re not, you don’t have a skill problem—you have a visibility problem.

By leading a local community project like The Faces Of, an agent effectively becomes the virtual mayor of their town. They’re given a stage in the center of the community, a platform to highlight the people they choose as Faces of their town. And when you shine your spotlight on others—when you give value first—a great deal of that light reflects back onto you.

Conversations like this reaffirm why I continue to focus on helping agents build sustainable, relationship-based businesses. Whether through The Faces Of platform or my leadership at Next Boulevard Real Estate, my goal is to help professionals grow in a way that feels human, grounded, and lasting—by giving value without expecting anything in return.
